WHO WE ARE
Devoted to alleviating the plight of disadvantaged and at-risk children and youths.
The center identifies orphaned children and youths with potential but limited resources due to their circumstances, offering them educational opportunities and a supportive environment. Additionally, it provides a safe haven and emotional support for orphans and abandoned children who lack a stable home environment.
THE CHILDREN WE FOCUS ON
We are here to love them
All at-risk children deserve to be taken care of, however, at UNICCHYDwe focus on three categories of disadvantaged children:
The Orphaned
We offer basic education to vulnerable children in slums, many supporting siblings through begging or other means, hindering school attendance.
Forced Labour
UNICCHYD offers assistance to orphaned children and youths escaping abuse or forced labor from adult guardians after losing their parents.
The Unemployed
UNICCHYD trains unemployed educated youths in agriculture, aquaculture, ICT, hospitality, and technical skills like welding and scaffolding.
PAST PROJECTS
Built a water well in the Kingdom of Tombia
UNICCHYD built a water well in the Kingdom of Tombia, Port Hacourt in 2014 to provide clean drinking water for the community and to stop the spread of water borne diseases of which children were the most sufferers and had the highest fatalities. This project was achieved with a grant from Ashworth Charitable Trust, negotiated and supervised by World in Need, UK.
